Brief Description about Nepal

Nepal is the homeland of world famous Gurkhas and the country of Great Himalayas. It is a developing mountainous land locked country situated between China and India with a population of nearly 25 million people. Predominantly being an agricultural country, above 81 percent of total population are engaged in agriculture. Nepal is abundant in natural resources and is very beautiful country by nature, because of which many countries have shown their interest in utilizing our human resources. We are rich in our culture, tradition and heritage.

Historical Background

Nepal started to provide manpower to overseas countries since the eighteen century. History shows that the British hired Nepalese Gurkhas to join their military forces and established the first Gurkha Regiment in 1815. Since then Britain and India have regularly recruited thousands of Nepalese Gurkhas every year for their special Gurkha Regiments. The brave Gurkhas were awarded many medals including Victoria Cross and have continued to enjoy highest reputation for their vigour and quality all over the world.
